Back to the Real World

Thanksgiving Break was great and went by wayyy to fast. My parents got in on Wed. night. Thursday we visited with my aunt and ate lunch at Bucca di Beppo. It was YUMMY. Not your traditional Thanksgiving but it was sooo good. Friday Mom and I went shopping for a bit (we didn't get up early or anything) and we got some good deals. Friday night we went to Springfield to visit with my mom's best friend and eat the BEST pizza ever (Cassano's). My bro and his girlfriend got here on Friday and Todd came up on Friday and met us in Springfield. So Friday night there were six people in my tiny apartment, but we managed :) Sat. we cooked and had Thanksgiving at my cousin's apartment. It was so nice for my aunt to be able to be there and for my family from Florida to be in as well. We had a good time. My cousin got to show her mom her wedding dress for the first time (in person). It was really fun! Sat night we all went to a restaurant/bar for a bit and we had a good time. I miss being with my family. They are awesome people who mean the world to me. I love Ohio but I miss seeing them all the time. They really are my best friends. Yesterday was a pretty lazy day. The highlight of the day was going to Target to buy a scale. I didn't own a scale until yesterday and it SHOWS :) My mom challenged me to "biggest loser" between us (and she doesn't need to lose ANY weight, I on the other hand have a lot to lose). Our goal is 8-10 pounds by Christmas. I hope I can do it. I stocked up salad tonight at the grocery...woo hoo (sarcasm in the voice). I have done weight watchers multiple times and I always do well on it, it's the sticking to it that is the problem. I have never tried to do it without going to the meetings so we'll see how it goes!!! Hopefully by announcing it to the world it will hold me accountable :)

Today was such a fun day at work because we broke out all the Holiday songs and decorations. It's always hard to go back after a break but it was an overall good day. I had a kid who wrote a letter to Santa today and the first line was "Dear Santa, Is blue your favorite color?" It was so stinking cute :) I love my kids!!!

I would like to end this post with a few prayer requests. Please pray for my aunt who is set to re-start chemo tomorrow, Kate McRae (you can read about her at www.prayforkate.com), and the Richmond's in BG, KY.

I'm sooo excited tomorrow starts December!!!!
